On March 14, 2022, the working group on pollution prevention and control standards for electrical and electronic products of the Ministry of industry and information technology organized and held the "kick-off meeting on deepening the management of restrictions on the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products", introduced the current situation at home and abroad of restrictions on the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products, and combined with the strict implementation of the control requirements for restrictions on the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products proposed in the 14th five year plan for industrial green development Update the catalogue of the control scope of electrical and electronic products, formulate and revise the mandatory standard for the content limit of harmful substances in electrical and electronic products, and introduce the next work plan.

The priorities of 2022 mentioned in the meeting are as follows:
  1. 1. Discuss the time when the detection method will be switched from GB / T 26125 to GB / T 39560 series standards, and the specific switching time and method will be published in the form of announcement of CNCA;

  2. 2. Promote the revision of SJ / T 11364 marking requirements for restricted use of hazardous substances in electronic and electrical products;

  3. 3. It is proposed to add the limit requirements for four phthalate esters based on the original six hazardous substances (lead, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, mercury, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers), and carry out research on the control maturity of four phthalate esters (DEHP, BBP, DBP and DiBP). If control is required, the requirements shall be put forward in the form of the amendment to GB / T 26572 limit requirements for restricted substances in electronic and electrical products;

  4. 4. Start the formulation of mandatory standards for the limit requirements of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products.

The above work is planned to be completed in November 2022, which will be a comprehensive revision and upgrading for China's RoHS. With the progress of technology and the continuous promotion of industry, new materials, new processes and new products are emerging, and the corresponding policies and standards are also facing renewal and iteration, which is of great significance;

The standards working group is exploring to continue to strengthen the technical support of standards in the form of mandatory standards and implement regulatory requirements. Specifically, they conducted research on the management and control maturity of four phthalic substances, namely di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), toluene butyl phthalate (BBP), phenyl butyl phthalate (DBP) and diisobutyl phthalate (DiBP), and finally gave management and control suggestions according to the research results.
